Were you one of the many couples who were planning a Spring or Summer wedding but have now found yourselves looking for some inspiration for a Autumn or Winter celebration?
I can imagine you had your wedding all planned out and now find yourselves Pinterest-ing some new ideas!
Below you'll find some top tips and inspiration for you along with images I've taken at Autumn and Winter weddings.
T O P T I P S
1. PLANNING THE TIMELINE OF YOUR DAY
As the days are shorter in Autumn, you may need to rethink your timeline for the day.
Ceremony times may be determined by your registrar who try to squeeze couples in who needed to reschedule, but no need to worry!
Here are a few pointers to make sure we get the best out of the shorter daylight hours we'll have
- As soon as the ceremony is over I'd advise we crack on with photos.
- Try and keep group photos to a minimum.
- Have someone on hand who will be able to gather groups up quickly for us... less time you are in the cold the better!
2. BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
Ok, so it may not actually be that cold... we do get some beautiful days in the Autumn and Winter, but it's best to be prepared just in case!
Make sure both you, and your bridesmaids have something to keep them warm;
a wrap, leather jacket or faux fur .... these also look great in photos!

3. KEEPING YOUR GUESTS WARM
Guests will love it you if you provide them with blankets & maybe some fire pits!
You can find lovely and reasonably priced blankets here at Ikea

4. RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
Ok so it may rain on your wedding day... but that could happen any day of the year, but there's really no need to worry - we will make it work!
- Umbrellas make fun photos
- The rain makes couples cuddle up close and gives the bride a chance to pinch the groom's jacket!
- The rain can create a soft and romantic atmosphere to both photo & film
5. WHAT SHOES TO WEAR
You have a beautiful pair of shoes for your wedding day... no worries!
Just bring something flat, warm and waterproof with you for when we go off to take couples shots... don't worry you can change back to your beautiful shoes straight after!
6. HOW TO CREATE A ROMANTIC FEEL
Fill your venue with fairy lights and candles to create a cosy atmosphere
7. IDEAS WHERE TO HAVE PHOTOS TAKEN
So it may be raining and we may need to take group photos inside. Why not create a beautiful backdrop not just for us to use, but somewhere guests can take photos or even turn it into a photobooth later on in the day!
